Ventura motorcycle luggages
Printable Version Written: 09/11/2005 : 12:52. Read 25967 times (12/day).
Using your bike everyday to go to the office may be fun. Going for a ride a week end is fun. Riding a few days, or a feew weeks, is more fun. However, in this case, if you don't have a GT equiped with trunks or bags, the luggage point is clearly an issue... especially if you have a sportbike or a naked like my Buell...

Ventura motorcycle luggages2005-11-09

Fortunately a friend of mine talked me about Ventura: "Manufacturers of the custom-made VENTURA Aerodynamic Bike-Pack motorcycle luggage system and a range of Light-Guards. Specialists in soft motorcycle touring luggage and panniers."

Ventura soft luggages are adaptable to most motorcycles thanks to clever mount systems specifically designed for each bike model.

In most case, you can install a Ventura luggage without any drilling or transformation, simply using already existing fixing points (the passengers foot pegs supports on my Buell).

Using a very detailled notice, installing your luggage is done in less than one hour. Once the two supports are fixed on both sides of the bike, you just have to bolt two L shaped brackets: three different racks can be slotted into these brackets depending on your needs and the aero packs (the bags) you will choose from several models going from 10 to 45 liters.

You can also mount two systems to get a total 70 liters capacity.

Luggages installation and deposit take only a few seconds with an easy clip system. This is a good thing when you reached your destination after many hours riding and you are in a hurry to take a shower.
On each side of the bags are some usefull pockets, and of course a rain protection is avalaible for each bag.

What about riding with such bags? well...

nothing. No disturbance, no vibrations, regardless your speed. You may easily forget that you are carrying luggages. And more: the bags don't move, the brackets don't move, so no risks of scratch on your bike.

The most complete kit is made of three elements that slots into the L-brackets: the Pack-Rack which holds the luggage securely behind the rider; the Sport-Rack designed for town use and doubles as a grab rail for the passenger; and a small Grab-Handle.

The pros:
Bike specific mount system
Easy installation
Versatile system
Design and sport look

The cons:
A little expensive: 500 Euros for a complete system.

Finally, it's an amazing product and a serious solution for some specific bikes.

About www.motorcyclists-online.com English version:
At the beginning, in 2001, www.motorcyclists-online.com was an exclusive French Motorcycle website. Now, since September 2005, it has become bilingual: English speaking people are welcome !
We do believe, at www.motorcyclists-online.com, that linguistic boundaries are not a problem when we share the same passion for bikes.
We are currently working on translating all articles and contents, to finish the UK/US version. You will certainly notice some bugs or translation errors: please do not hesitate to advise us by e-mail, Private Message or by posting in the Forum. Your help is welcome !
For the moment, articles which haven’t been human translated are automatically machine translated, which I must confess is not really famous, but faster than human translators.
