Significant Updates for 2019 Nissan Sentra
Though the 2019 Nissan Sentra is a continuation of last years 4 door sedan it has all the reasons to be as it still carries the head turning good looks, sleek lines and makes you feel premium. Its still one of the top cars in fuel economy in its range and is loaded with technology that keeps you well connected to your stuff on the move. It comes in an amazing array of 6 trims with Midnight editions dropped from the lineup and has received significant updates and advanced safety features that were earlier available now part of the standard offering at Monterey Peninsula Nissan.
Exterior
Looking at the base S and SV trims there are not many remarkable differences on the exteriors. Moving up, the SR now sports a Rear spoiler with integrated LED brake light. No significant changes on the exteriors on the higher trims as well as these already sport fantastic features such as Intelligent Auto Headlights, LED low-beam projector headlights with LED accents, Fog lights, Dual power heated outside mirrors with LED turn signal indicators and Power sliding glass moonroof with tilt feature.
Interiors
There are significant changes on the inside as the base S trim with 6-speed Manual now sports a 7-inch touch-screen display and Sun visors with vanity mirrors and extensions that are also standard with the other higher trims. The S trim with XTRONIC CVT and higher trims additionally feature a 370Z®-inspired steering wheel and an Advanced Drive-Assist® Display with 5.0″ color display. Moving higher up the trims the comfort and convenience features are enhanced with NissanConnect® along with the 7-inch display and the popular Apple Car Play and Android Auto.
Audio & Entertainment
The Audio entertainment system has seen changes as well with the CD player being replaced by a USB port and the 5-inch color display goes missing as it was probably redundant in both the S and SV and a USB port added in all the higher trims all the way upto the Nismo.
Engine, Transmission& Drivetrain
The base engine of the Sentra is a 1.8-liter DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder which churns out 130 horsepower and 128 lb-ft of torque in most of the trims that were showcased at the Monterey Peninsula Nissan dealer. The ones with turbo sport a 1.6-liter Direct Injection Gasoline (DIG) turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that churn out 188 horsepower with 177 lb-ft of torque. The Drivetrain is similar across all the trims and features Front engine/Front-Wheel Drive with Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) variants.
Safety& Security
All the trims in the 2019 Nissan Sentra feature an advanced array of safety features such as the Nissan Advanced Air Bag System, Driver and Front-passenger Seat mounted side airbags and Roof-mounted curtain side-impact supplemental air bags so you are protected from all sides in case of impact. This apart, there are features such as Vehicle Dynamic Control and Traction Control System that enhance road grip. One of the major additions is in vehicle security which incorporates the Nissan Vehicle Immobilizer System across all the trims with an added Vehicle Security System in the SV, SR, SR Turbo, SL and Nismo trims.
