The real heroes are amateur riders.

This Dakar was even bereaved two times on riders side, first by the death of the south African Elmer Symons during the fourth stage between Er Rachidia and Ouarzazate.
Eric Aubijoux, was also victim of his passion, during the 14th stage and at 15KM from Dakar
he did a syncope, and could not be reanimated.
This Rally is one of the most difficult and unforeseeable in the world, and that will not Marc Coma who will tell you the contrary, in first position during most of the rally the Spanish rider was forced to stop after a big crash. He had a head trauma.
Stop talking about the sad part, just focused us on the beautiful side of this rally, the real riders, amateurs those who do not stop even if they are stuck in the middle of the desert during the night.
Amateurs like Anne Charlotte (first participation) and Gerard Tilliette daughter and father who finished the rally both. Anne Charlotte, youngest of the riders 20years old.
Nice performance also for Ludivine Puy, this is not her first participation but she is on the Top 50 and she is the first Woman.
They are several riders like them and that is them I Congratulate.
