In 2005 Suzuki launched a new championship on 5 of the best European racetracks, during SBK races week end: The European GSX-R cup. In 2007, The European GSX-R cup will take place on 6 racetracks. Riders of GSX-R cup will race during SBK week end, between Supersport race and 2nd SBK race. The motorbike is a GSX-R 750 prepared by the Alstar Team (2005 SBK World champion with Troy Corser).

French team, Suzuki France, will engage, with Emerick Jonchière (from Junior Team), one rider from French Promosport Cup 600, and one from Open SSP French Championship. The possibility to ride a GSX-R 750 during the European GSX-R cup 2007 will be given to any rider who will participate to the French races with a GSX-R 600. To participate at least one of these 6 races, it will be necessary to be the best Suzuki Rider less than 25 years old.

09/09/2007 : Lausitz GSX-R cup Eur. (French Selection : Promosport Pau Arnos 07/01/2007)

10/07/2007 : Nevers GSX-R cup Eur.

(French Selection : Promosport Le Mans 07/22/2007)

During Silverstone, Lausitz and Nevers races, a second rider from Promosport and Open french Cups will be invited.

09/09/2007 Lausitz GSX-R cup Eur. (French Selection : Promosport Nogaro 08/26/2007)

Like past year, the winner of the GSX-R European cup will be an official rider of Alstar Team for the 2008 Superstock 1000 European Championship.
