After several weeks of eager waiting MotoGP contenders were back in business for the first 2009 winter testing session in Sepang.
For this first day Loris Capirossi was the fastest on the 2009 Suzuki and clocked a lap time more than 1 second quicker than his best lap of the 2008 meeting.
His team mate Chris Vermeulen was fast too and could manage to put his bike on fourth place at the end of the day.

Second and back on track after his wrist surgery was the 2007 World Champion Casey Stoner. Despite a little number of laps covered the aussie was quite fast but also very disappointed of his recovery. Unfortunately Casey Stoner told that he was in pain since the begining of the session and could ride normally. He added that his feeling was not good and that he thought he was slower than that but finaly, he was quite happy of his lap times and confident.

Valentino Rossi, third was also quite happy of his day despite a small crash in the morning and his stiches at his hand and leg. He told that his new M1 was quite good as the engine and the chassis were really easy to ride and comfortable.

To close the top five Toni Elias back on the Gresini Honda and already in the rythm as his fellow countrymen Sete Gibernau on the Ducati who managed to do a nice 9th lap time.

Finaly lets talk about the scare of the day. James Toseland's crash! The Yamaha Tech 3 rider who was on his first flying lap lost the rear grip of his bike and fell at more than 120mph! Luckily came out of this unseroiusly damaged. Toseland sais it was the biggest crash of his career, a thing that his bike will not be able to tell cause it was completely destroyed from the top of the fairing to the inside of the engine!

About www.motorcyclists-online.com English version:
At the beginning, in 2001, www.motorcyclists-online.com was an exclusive French Motorcycle website. Now, since September 2005, it has become bilingual: English speaking people are welcome !
We do believe, at www.motorcyclists-online.com, that linguistic boundaries are not a problem when we share the same passion for bikes.
We are currently working on translating all articles and contents, to finish the UK/US version. You will certainly notice some bugs or translation errors: please do not hesitate to advise us by e-mail, Private Message or by posting in the Forum. Your help is welcome !
For the moment, articles which haven’t been human translated are automatically machine translated, which I must confess is not really famous, but faster than human translators.
