The first Hungarian to win a motorcycle world title led the Valencia Grand Prix for most of the way with Faubel in close pursuit and he allowed the Spaniard to win on home turf down the home straight.
Talmacsi, 26, takes over as world champion from Spain's Alvaro Bautista. Faubel, who won his fifth race of the season and enjoys less than cordial realtions with the champion, had needed to come home first and hope that Talmacsi finished no better than fourth, to lift the world title.
"I couldn't do any more than I did," admitted Faubel.

"It is a real shame because I had more podium finishes (13) and more wins (5) than Gabor."
But Faubel does not say that he is less consistant than Gabor Talmacsi.
Talmacsi ended the season with three wins and 10 podium finishes. So his title is really diserved, also the hugarian rider will not be 250cc rider next season, but Faubel will be...

About www.motorcyclists-online.com English version:
At the beginning, in 2001, www.motorcyclists-online.com was an exclusive French Motorcycle website. Now, since September 2005, it has become bilingual: English speaking people are welcome !
We do believe, at www.motorcyclists-online.com, that linguistic boundaries are not a problem when we share the same passion for bikes.
We are currently working on translating all articles and contents, to finish the UK/US version. You will certainly notice some bugs or translation errors: please do not hesitate to advise us by e-mail, Private Message or by posting in the Forum. Your help is welcome !
For the moment, articles which haven’t been human translated are automatically machine translated, which I must confess is not really famous, but faster than human translators.
