The Spaniard involved in the next season MotoGP championship with LCR Team, got into the track saturday and sunday on his Honda 450CRF fighting with some of the two-wheels colleagues (such as Puniet, Dovizioso, Pasini, Bussei, De Angelis, Biaggi etc…) including his younger brother David. Thanks to the support of some LCR technical staff members, Carlos has been involved in two different practice sessions followed by one initial race valid for the final heat called “American Race” when Carlos finished in first position followed by Pasini and Dovizioso. The successful exhibition of the Spaniard no. 7 was clapped by the Team Staff including Lucio Cecchinello and the new young Irish talent involved in the 250cc class Eugene Laverty.
After the races Carlos Checa said : “I enjoyed myself very much today and the public was unbelievably warm! I decided to join the Motorshow once again this year because the Supermotard is also very useful for my winter training; thanks to this two-wheels discipline all the MotoGP riders can understand how to control the slide of the motorbikes in the corners. When I am in Barcelona I often practice this sport. This morning the track conditions were not so good because of the rain, but in the afternoon, the situation improved for the final challenge called “American Race”. That’s a strange race because it works by a process of elimination (at the end of 2 laps the latest 3 riders of the group must abandon the race and it restarts once again!) but I knew the points to overtake my competitors. I got the first position in the last lap and when I reached the podium for the ceremony all my team and the public made a big applause for me and it was very exciting!”.
