Always up front, the red devil Casey Stoner smashed, once again, the pole position. He has clocked a really quick lap, less fast than the 990cc but he is the only rider under the 1,58 barrier! On the first row, he will be joined by the two Honda Repsol riders, Nicky Hayden and Dani Pedrosa. Nice return up front for Michelin, but the race rythm will be different for sure.
4th on the grid, John Hopkins lose all the benefit of his very good begining of week end in race mode. Unfortunately the US rider fell during his latest quick lap, he was uninjured but his lap was quicker than the pole of Stoner, a nice occasion missed, but Hopkins will be definitely on the pace tomorrow. The italian rider is only sixth, he was not able to take the benefit of the Michelin qualifying tires...
The third row will be composed by Loris Capirossi on the second Ducati, followed by Chris Vermeulen and Colin Edwards, to end the Top Ten, Sylvain Guintoli, th french rider made a very nice session by taking the pole during a moment...
Marco Melandri will not be a part of tomorrow race. The Honda Gresini rider could not take part to the qualifying session due to a neck problem. The Gresini team did not play it weel. Their replacment rider was there and if they had took the decision earlier, maybe two Gresini bikes could be at the start of the race...
