MotoGP : Burgess waits engine improvements ahead Brno

Jeremy Burgess, Valentino Rossi’s crew chief with Fiat Yamaha Team, has said that he expected some new features for the Brno GP, first event after the traditional summer break.

According to Jeremy Burgess, the only thing missing to the Yamaha is some top power that other bikes have.
Always according to him, the Yamaha has all for her, good châssis, good character, but the fact that Yamaha engine is using valve springs made it lose power due to the impossibility to open these at a max level, unlike pneumatic systeme or Desmodromic, which make able a maximum opening.

But Burgess said also thet the Yamaha engine is very good but in front of the powerfull Ducati engine, it is very tough to compete, mostly on a race distance.
The corner speed has incrase a lot also, and overtaking in corner is even harder than ever, so to pass, riders have to brake lately, or put the throtle early, but with a lack of power overtaking, for the last case is impossible.

So great improvements are expected for Brno, with some power, but the bigger feature will be tested during the practice sessions, Monday, after the GP, with an engine ready to receive a pneumatic valve systeme.
