Read 1495 times (6/day). | | The integrality of this filed article is for Premium Members. | He is the new Supersport World Champion, he has dominated all the season, always up front his name is Kanan Sofuoglu and he comes from Turkey.

He is the first Turkish motorcycle world champion of the history of this sport.
Born in 1984 at Adapazari in Turkey, Kenan starts his career in 2001 on a 600cc supersport in the national championship, he finishes 2nd .
In 2002 Kenan Sofuoglu continues in Yamaha cup where he wins the championship.
For the 2003 year, he goes to Germany for the local Supersport champ and finishes second overall.
His advancement does not stop there and in 2004 he goes in the Européan Superstock championship where he finishes 3rd overall and 2nd the year after, in 2005.
In 2006 Honda Ten Kate hires him in World Supersport team alongside Sébastien Charpentier, and Kenan Sofuoglu will finish third at the championship.
2007 is what we all saw, a fantastic season with a world title highly deserved.
For 2008 a seat in the Ten Kate World Superbike Team is waiting for him...

"I cannot explain what I am feeling. To win the championship in August is such an amazing feeling and I don't think anyone has ever done this before. I have to thank the team because without them this would not have been possible. The race was actually pretty difficult, particularly in the last laps, and there was so much going on in my head that it was hard to concentrate. I just tried to focus and once I got to the final lap I knew I had done it. This is incredible, I am so happy!"
