Riders told their engineers that the bike had chatter, a phenomenon well known that makes vibrate the bike. On the 125cc FRR, this chattering is brought by the rear wheel. To resolve this engineers made some several new parts, a whole new chassis less stiff and a new swingarm also less rigid. He idea is that vibrations wil be absorbed by the chassis, or that the time when they come will be shift away.
Few days ago, they brought this new châssis at Brno to test it, but the weather was very bad, so they have to try it under the rain. That makes us take some late despite some realy high technology tools at their factory. Riders made some laps anyway, but on the wet, thats why they have to work more for the next GP on the Sachsenring to compare the two chassis.
Red Bull KTM Technical Director confirmed however that results had not yet been conclusive. "Due to the bad weather, we don't have any final confirmation about the qualities of our new prototype chassis. We also haven't been able to accomplish our goal of finding out where and in exactly which situations the new chassis behaves better or differently when compared to the old one," he said. "Therefore, Koyama and Krummenacher will both run two different bikes at the Sachsenring, with an old and a new chassis each, for back-to-back comparisons."
