His second lap was a flying lap. 130.354mph, that sent the HM Plant Honda rider one more time in the record book. He takes his 13th victory, in a race who was a remake of the Bennetts TT Superbike race last Monday (4th). Guy Martin takes the second Position and Ian Hutchinson ended the Podium.
But how can we talk about the TT without talk about the terrible crash of friday.
The organisers of the Isle of Man TT Races, the Manx Motor Cycle Club Limited, can confirm that Marc Ramsbotham, 34, has died from injuries sustained in the Senior race on Friday 8th June 2007. He was involved in an incident at the 26th milestone on the mountain and was confirmed dead at the scene.
Mr Ramsbotham, from Norfolk, was a TT newcomer. He was married and was an HGV driver and plant fitter as well as being a professional road racer.
The incident at the 26th milestone also involved four other people. Dean Adrian Jacob, 33, a security engineer from Kidderminster who was confirmed dead at the scene. Gregory John Kenzig, 52, a retired engineer from Queensland, Australia was confirmed dead after admission at Nobles hospital.
Two marshals, Mrs Hilary Beryl Musson, 60 , from Ballaugh, Isle of Man and Ms Janice Ann Phillips, 50, from Ramsey, Isle of Man were also involved in the incident. Phillips is described as stable. Musson’s condition is reported as critical.
Circumstances of this accident are under investigations, but it is sure that in this kind of race, such an accident is unavoidable. Safety conditions are just non-existant.
The TT race its also that, the big gap between the great performance of the winner, and the death who hit the race. This is a race for « daredevils », but who never forgive when the Grim Reaper is tired to be fooled...
