He was the hero in a movie called Continental Circus, a documentary about the motorcycle grand prix championship, where Mr Findlay was ridden his Norton Manx on incredible tracks like Spa Francorchamps (Belgium) or in Isle Of Man during the famous Tourist Trophy.
Jack Findlay rode bikes during 60's and 70's wearing a blue helmet with a white Kangaroo on it.

He was the first rider in the history to win on a 2 strokes bike, the first to win with Michelin tyres, and the first to bring a victory to Suzuki.
Mr Findlay was also the rider who has the longest carrer in this sport, with 21 years of racing between 1958 and 1978.
But his best result and the thing that made him this legend is when he finished in second position of the 500cc world championship on a privateer Matchless, behind Gaiacomo Agostini.
He also won the Isle of Man TT in 73 after 15 years of trying.

In 73 also, Jack Findlay rode a Suzuki TR500s and in 74 he was engaged in the official Suzuki Team, and helped develop the famous RG500. After his race retirement Mr Findlay was technical director in Grand Prix.

For the lovers of the Continental Circus (motorcycle grand prix championship), Jack Findlay will stay as one of the greatest maker of this Big and Beautiful History of motorcycle Grand Prix, this non stop race to the perfect performance in all conditions.

A legend.

Goodbye Mr Findlay.

About www.motorcyclists-online.com English version:
At the beginning, in 2001, www.motorcyclists-online.com was an exclusive French Motorcycle website. Now, since September 2005, it has become bilingual: English speaking people are welcome !
We do believe, at www.motorcyclists-online.com, that linguistic boundaries are not a problem when we share the same passion for bikes.
We are currently working on translating all articles and contents, to finish the UK/US version. You will certainly notice some bugs or translation errors: please do not hesitate to advise us by e-mail, Private Message or by posting in the Forum. Your help is welcome !
For the moment, articles which haven’t been human translated are automatically machine translated, which I must confess is not really famous, but faster than human translators.
