Sofuoglu led from the start but a five way battle between Sofuoglu, Curtain, Riba, Pitt and Fujiwara quickly developed. With Sofuoglu in front on lap 10 Riba crashed, taking Curtain and Fujiwara with him. Pitt avoided the carnage to hold second place, but Nanelli began closing the gap until the final laps when the two swapped places several times.
