Philippe Starck is a very polyvalent designer. Light, houses ready to build, bottles... he can draw everything, in order to give a new sens to the objects.
In 1996, with the production of the Aprilia 6.5 Motò, Starck showed that he could do more. A Motorcycle. Very futuristic and essential designed.
A bike that we can define in a modern scrambler, a style he particularly likes, he own several Kawasaki W650 « scramblerised ».
This year, he wored for Voxan, the french manufacturer. So he made a modern Cafe Racer as a prototype.
A simple bike, two wheels, a fuel tank, a seat, and a big engine.
A concept who keep his quest to the essential design.
The engine is aimed to be a 1200cc, the bike claimed a 180Kg weight and a power of 140 Hp.
A really beautiful baby!
But to be called « Cafe Racer » a bike must be brutal and made for selfish motorcyclists. This one is totally on the line, and is featured with a ridiculusly small seat, but with tail light integrated.
The rider will also take in hands a really beutifull handlebar, race style, but in high position.
This Voxan Cafe Racer Super Naked by Starck is a style exercise really well done. Original and not reached by consensus, but who can make us forget some strange design ideas from the french factory.
