Paris Motorcycle Show: Honda
Printable Version Written: 02/10/2007 : 13:19. Read 15161 times (10/day).
The big question at this Paris Motorcycle Show was: « Is Honda going to finally wake up? ». Indeed, for a few years, the manufacturer with the wings looked like a little asleep: no real new bikes, nothing really extraordinary... Well, the miracle didn't happen this year, BUT, if seems something is finally happening.

First look: 2008 HOnda CB1000R2007-11-06

It's not yet Paradise City for Honda and some advertised bikes were a little disapointing. Look at the CBF600: Honda promised a very new bike. Either I became blind without noticing, either this CBF600 isn't what it was planned to be. Even if it's lighter, leaner, more torquey, more powerful, sharper, less polluting, or less this less that, the new CBF looks like the 2006 model...
We also waited for a Hornet 1000 and a V-Twin roadster...

I guess we will have wait MORE time...

However, there are some good news.

The new CBR 1000 Fireblade, even if you like or not the front fairing, is a true design success. The bike seems so lean, small and light! At first glance you may think it's not a 1000cc. The previous CBR 1000 looks like an elephant when you compare both.

The new Transalp XL700V. A true good surprise.

When we saw the first pictures, we were not that happy. The bikes seems heavy, unbalanced, and not far from ugly...
BUT when you see it for real, everything changes.
Admittedly, there are some kind of overall similarities with the previous 650 model or with the varadero 1000, but this bike has a real personnality, and when we saw it, we really wanted to ride it NOW.
If we had to find something wrong on this bike, we'd tell you about the plastics: overall quality is not that good and the fairing parts give a cheap impression.

And, last but not least, let's talk about the now Honda logo on the CBR 1000 Fireblade.
This may sounds like a detail, but this new logo is simply awesome...

We hope this is the sign that things are gonna change... Milan is coming soon, and we can hope Honda keeps something secret...

About www.motorcyclists-online.com English version:
At the beginning, in 2001, www.motorcyclists-online.com was an exclusive French Motorcycle website. Now, since September 2005, it has become bilingual: English speaking people are welcome !
We do believe, at www.motorcyclists-online.com, that linguistic boundaries are not a problem when we share the same passion for bikes.
We are currently working on translating all articles and contents, to finish the UK/US version. You will certainly notice some bugs or translation errors: please do not hesitate to advise us by e-mail, Private Message or by posting in the Forum. Your help is welcome !
For the moment, articles which haven’t been human translated are automatically machine translated, which I must confess is not really famous, but faster than human translators.
