The CSC wants to ban pitbikes from the road

The CSC (cosumers security comission) wants to ban pit bikes and minibikes, machines liked by children, from the french roads as they told it in a release early monday.

« In a release gave May 14th, the CSC ask to the government to stop pit bikes and minibikes autorisation to roll on public road, Homologated or not. »

Minibikes are first made for teaching to motorbikesprofessionals. Those kind of machines are mostly buy by parents for children.
The CSC has tested seven pit-bikes in his laboratory, and by a prfessional rider, the result is « that vehicle are too fast for children (40 to 54 km/h) and brake distance too long, more than basic 125cc. »

The comission say thet those bikes could be use only for « teaching sport riding and under qualifyed management ».
They also warn people about « conception problerms » and « non standard to homologation » points.
Those vehicle are the cause of many accidents said the CSC « and particularly one very important that a 5 years old girl had few days earlier. »
