The Twin Cam 96 displaces 1,584cc (96 cubic inches), compared to 1,450cc (88 cubic inches) for the Twin Cam 88 engine it replaces. The twin Cam 96 delivers up to 17 percent more torque (varies by model family) than the Twin Cam 88. The added displacement was achieved by increasing stroke from 4 inches to 4.38 inches. The Twin Cam 96 cylinder bore is 3.75 inches, the same as that of the Twin Cam 88.

The Twin Cam 96B is designed to be rigid-mounted in Harley-Davidson Softail models, and is equipped with internal counter-balance shafts. The Twin Cam 96/96B will get Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI). The 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission features quieter helical-cut gears in ratios optimized to match the torque curve of the Twin Cam 96. The addition of a higher-ratio sixth gear reduces top-gear rpm by 11 percent, compared to the previous five-speed Big Twin transmission.

The VRSC family of liquid-cooled power-cruisers features two new models:
- The VRSCDX Night Rod Special which Harley's release calls "the evil twin brother of the Night Rod," is easily distinguished with its almost totally blacked-out finish including the 120HP engine.

- The limited-edition VRSCX pays homage to the scorchingly successful Screamin' Eagle/Vance & Hines NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle dragracing team. Its engine is a 1250cc (72 cubic-inches instead of 69), 123 HP version of the VR double-overhead camshaft engine. Only 1,400 units will be produced.

The new FXSTC Softail Custom provides a classic chopper-like style: 200mm rear tire on a slotted disc rear wheel, Chrome Profile Laced Aluminum 21-inch front wheel and tire, king-and-queen seat, Bobtail rear fender and Fat Bob fuel tank.

The limited-edition 50th Anniversary Sportster features special badging, a traditional peanut fuel tank, and other classic components to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1957 Sportster introduction.

The 2007 Sportsters join the rest of the line by incorporating Harley's ESPFI fuel injection as standard equipment with some cool immediate benefits: the883 models have about 15 percent more torque at 2500 rpm. Harley also redesigned the rear fenders, the seats, the fuel tanks, the coils, the stators, the exhaust pipes, the wiring, the induction system, and revised the frame.

2007 Sportsters get new gauges with a clock included in odometer LCD, a low-fuel warning light and two tripmeters.

The FLSTF Fat Boy gets the new engine and 6 speeds transmission and is seriously updated with new Bullet Hole Disc Cast Aluminum wheels (200mm rear tire) and styling details

The FXDC Dyna Super Glide Custom gets more chrome, a new two-up, ribbed seat, Fat Bob fuel tank with a Wide Glide-style tank-mounted speedometer and ignition console and a mini-pullback handlebar.

About www.motorcyclists-online.com English version:
At the beginning, in 2001, www.motorcyclists-online.com was an exclusive French Motorcycle website. Now, since September 2005, it has become bilingual: English speaking people are welcome !
We do believe, at www.motorcyclists-online.com, that linguistic boundaries are not a problem when we share the same passion for bikes.
We are currently working on translating all articles and contents, to finish the UK/US version. You will certainly notice some bugs or translation errors: please do not hesitate to advise us by e-mail, Private Message or by posting in the Forum. Your help is welcome !
For the moment, articles which haven’t been human translated are automatically machine translated, which I must confess is not really famous, but faster than human translators.
